Threats come in many flavors. They can be written, implied, specific or broad.
Often they contain something like "I know everything you said on the new merger." This might be true or it might be an empty boast designed to disturb the company.
In any case it is worth looking for electronic eavesdropping devices.
If there is a credible threat to life or property call the police first. Otherwise, use the investigative skills at your disposal to figure out what is going on before calling.
